Meet Angelique de Pennart

Founder of Alta Design

Born in Paris, France, I discovered my passion for design at a young age. My grandmother, an antique dealer with a remarkable art collection, nurtured my appreciation for architecture and design—instilling in me a deep sense of wonder, curiosity, and love for beauty.

This foundation led me to pursue formal training at Ecole Camondo in Paris, where I earned my Master of Interior Architecture & Product Design. This unique background allows me to approach projects with both an architect's understanding of space and structure and a designer's eye for beauty and function.

Life brought my husband and me to Calgary when he came here for his post-doctoral work, and we fell in love with the city and decided to make it home. I've created spaces for local favorites like Ten Foot Henry Restaurant and UNA Pizza + Wine, hospitality projects like Peaks Hotel and Suites, and residential developments.

Each project deepens my belief that great design should serve the people who experience it.

My Professional Background

With over 25 years of experience in interior design, I am committed to advancing the profession and supporting the next generation of designers.

I am an instructor in the Department of Interior Design at Mount Royal University and serve as the President of Interior Designers of Alberta.
