HOSPITALITY, CALGARY

Ten Foot Henry Restaurant

Project Brief

Ten Foot Henry delivers a carefully curated dining space where materiality and layout enhance the guest experience.

  • Spanning 2,980 sq. ft. with an additional 1,240 sq. ft. of basement storage, Ten Foot Henry features seating for 90 guests and is anchored by an open kitchen, aligning with the client’s vision of blending authentic food with garden-inspired elements. Key design details—including exposed framing, fir floors, timber beams, reclaimed sinks, and accents in copper, galvanized steel, and brass—create a distinctive, lived-in aesthetic. The restaurant’s namesake, the Ten Foot Henry cartoon character, reinforces its welcoming and communal spirit. Built in collaboration with Calcon Construction.

  • As part of the Connie Young Design team, I contributed to space planning and implementation, ensuring the design accommodated seating for 90 while maintaining the open kitchen as the focal point.

  • The design successfully reflects the restaurant’s vision, establishing it as a unique and inviting gathering place.
